Charming old towns, UNESCO World Heritage sites, enchanting castles, parks and gardens. Braunschweig, Celle, Einbeck, Göttingen, Goslar, Hamelin, Hanover, Hildesheim and Wolfenbüttel, together with the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, offer attractive highlights for a city break in Lower Saxony, in Germany.

Even in the autumn months, the cities show their special charm. From a guided tour of the city to a visit to a museum a classic shopping tour through the lively city centers, there are many possibilities. You can relax in one of the many restaurants, beer gardens and cafés on the historic squares or in the green oases of the cities. The Harz Mountains, the Lüneburg Heath or the Weserbergland are wonderful excursion destinations and easily accessible.

Goslar

Goslar can already look back on over 1100 years of town history. The UNESCO world heritage city invites its visitors on a time travel through the alleys of the old town. Goslar offers many options for active visitors. The city is located directly on the Harz Mountains, which invite you to explore on two wheels: on a guided bike tour, by e-bike, trekking bike or mountain bike. In addition to cycling, the Harz Mountains also offer beautiful hiking routes.

Hildesheim

Hildesheim is known for its unique cultural monuments. The cathedral and St. Michael's Church are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Just a few meters from the impressive historic market square, a view from Lower Saxony's highest church tower is worthwhile. Around Hildesheim, the elevated and panoramic trails offer fantastic views and beautiful routes for hiking in and around Hildesheim.

Einbeck

Inthe former Hanseatic city of Einbeck there is an old town full of magnificently decorated half-timbered houses. Europe's largest collection of classic cars can be found in the PS.SPEICHER. Einbeck is also known for
its Einbeck beer, which has been brewed here since the Middle Ages. Bock beer, by the way, was not invented in Bavaria but in Einbeck. 2023 is Bock beer year. Visitors should definitely try the strong beer.

Braunschweig

Magnificent townhouses and medieval squares in Braunschweig still bear witness to the city's important role as a Hanseatic city and as the Guelph residence. Works by renowned Baroque masters await visitors to the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum. The city can be explored particularly well from the water side - for example on a raft trip or canoe tour. The river Oker circles almost the entire city center.

Wolfenbüttel

‏The Neighbour Wolfenbüttel is world-famous for its Jägermeister liqueur. This can be enjoyed particularly well in the historic old town with over 1,000 half-timbered houses. In the Lessing city there are authentic places where the most important German poet of the Enlightenment left his traces, such as the Residence Palace, the Duke August Library and the Lessing House. Wolfenbüttel also offers exciting adventure tours on two wheels - a popular route is, for example, the tour "By bike in Lessing's footsteps from Wolfenbüttel to Braunschweig and back"

Hameln

In Hameln, much revolves around the legendary Pied Piper. How about a guided tour of the town with the legendary figure? The incomparable old town attracts visitors with its imposing sandstone and half-timbered buildings. The Pied Piper town of Hameln invites you to explore the most beautiful corners of the Weserbergland. A tour on the Weser cycle path or a boat trip on the Weser round off the visit.

Göttingen

Approximately 30,000 students lend a lively and international flair to the historic cityscape of Göttingen, a university town rich in tradition. An evening stroll through the many student pubs is a must when visiting the city. The gastronomic and cultural offerings are diverse. Celle

The residential city of Celle impresses with Europe's largest connected half-timbered ensemble and one of the most beautiful Guelph castles. For the hiking adventure, head through the moorland: here, the Heidschnuckenweg is considered as northern Germany's most beautiful hiking trail.
